  1. I stood for a week in Eva’s Bed & Breakfast in April 2012. I was visiting the Nationaal Herbarium Nederland in Leiden and Wageningen as part of my PhD studies. This bed & breakfast in a quiet and friendly house is ideal for academic visitors planning to stay some time in Leiden.
The house is very close to “De Vink” train station (5 minutes walk) making easy to travel to Amsterdaam, Schiphol and to other places of interest in the Netherlands. The proximity to this train station and the availability of a bike to move within Leiden, makes very easy to visit the Universities, Museums and to get to know the city, the parks around the house or whatever you want.
The room and bathroom are neat and comfortable, with some nice extras as the possibility of making your own tea and a table for working on your laptop or drinking your beverage. The breakfast was very tasty and generous. Finally, Eva and her family were very kind and friendly and they helped me a lot during my stay (directions, maps, trains tickets, even a medicine for the cough!).
I would definitively recommend this place if you are visiting Leiden and it wouldl be my first option if I need to spend some days in Leiden in the future.:-)

  2. I spent one week in the beginning of May 2012 at Eva’s Bed and Breakfast in Leiden. This was for sure one of the best bed and breakfasts I have ever stayed at. Eva and her family were very friendly, generous and helpful, and the room was equipped with everything you might need, from wireless internet to an own kettle for making tea or coffee. The house is perfectly situated with the train station De Vink a few minutes walk away, food stores and a couple of restaurants close by, and nice nature areas. The family lent me one of their bikes, and biking definitely seems to be one of the best ways of getting around in the town. There are biking lanes everywhere and from Kessler’s house I could easily go to the herbarium, where I was working during the week, or to the city centre in 10-15 minutes.

Thanks Eva with family for making my stay in Leiden so nice! I hope that I will have the possibility to visit Leiden again, and that I can stay at your bed and breakfast once more!

  3. I had a wonderful experience in Eva’s B&B. I spend one week in October 2012, a very hard week for personal and professional reasons. I received a warm welcome in by Eva and her wonderful family and had a marvelous time there with them.
I stayed in the Red Room, which is extremely confortable. The facilities are as described in the website, and all is new and in a very good state. The B&B is very clean and tidy. Towels are provided and changed very frequently, and you will never run short of tea and coffee in your room. The breadfast is abundant and varied (Eva introduces new things everyday).
The location of the B&B is extremely convenient. It is close to the city centre (30 min walk, a lot less in bicicle) and well communicated with bus and trains (De Vink Station is just 300 m away). The area is quiet and very nice.
Eva is a wonderful B&B manager and will help you to be confortable. Her family will assist her very well in this task: they are all extremely warm and nice. I strongly recommend this B&B.

  4. During Oct 2012, I spent 10 days in Eva’s B&B. That is a very clean, nice and comfortable place for any visitor. The breakfast are generous and of very good taste (including the delicious Holland cheese). Eva is a smart woman that takes care of every detail, she is a wonderful host, and her family are excellent people too. An useful bike was also provided, so I didn’t need to take bus for transportation in the area. The house is located 5 minutes walking from the DeVink train station. It could not have been a better choice.

  5. I spent three weeks at
Eva’s Bed and Breakfast, and my experience was great. Eva and her family are
wonderful people, helping me with everything during my visit. The B&B is
situated at great position, near De Vink train station and with food stores,
pharmacy and post office near by. The room and bathroom are comfortable, provided
with everything you might need. The breakfast was tasty, served at any time in
the morning and Eva always prepare something new and different. And the great thing
is that you can use their bike during your stay.

    I kindly recommend
Eva’s Bed and Breakfast to everybody visiting Leiden or surrounding areas.

  6. I spent a very pleasant time at Eva’s B & B. I felt at home. The room is great, and the treatment is even better. The site is easily accessible, near the train station, with buses to the center and the option to use a bike is great. The whole family is very friendly and attentive. I recommend it positively!

    🙂

  7. I have spend a very nice time at Eva’s B&B. The room is very clean and spacious and the family treated me very well. I enjoy the time that I spend with them specially at breakfast time (very good food). I recommend Eva’s B&B to everybody.

  8.

I spent two weeks just before Christmas at the Eva’s B&B. This bed & breakfast is located in a quiet and cosy house, very close to the train station and the bus station. The room and the bathroom were clean and equipped with everything I needed. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was tasteful and abundant. Eva and her family were very kind and always ready to help me for my every need. During my stay at the Eva’s B&B I really felt at home!

    🙂

  9. Overall I had a very positive experience at Eva’s B&B and was pleased to see that both the information on the website and the comments in the guestbook are accurate. The room is very clean and has pretty much everything you can reasonably expect, such as an electric kettle (teabags and coffee are provided as well) and even a flyswatter (though I didn’t need it in the winter). Breakfast includes eggs, bread, croissants, jam, charcuterie and obviously cheese, and is not only good, but also plentiful. Unless you stuff yourself every morning, there should be leftovers which you can put in plastic bags Eva gives you so that you can eat them later at lunch. Eva and her family are friendly and helpful. They even have excellent taste in films to boot, which means you can borrow some of their DVDs during your stay and watch great films of different genres and from various countries, e.g. Estonia, Italy, Japan and Sweden. If that’s not your thing, you can always watch the numerous channels on satellite TV with naked women (or naked men), which I found completely by chance of course.

  10. I spent 5 weeks in Eva B&B from 11th June to 19th July 2013 when attending my training at the Leiden University. The premise was very convenient as it is located within a 5 minutes walk to both the De Vink railways station and the bus stop. On the other side there is a park for evening uninterrupted physical exercise. The rooms are very clean with beddings changed now and then. Eva is a charming lady who will not let you go out unless you have had your precious timely breakfast at your convenience. The wireless internet is good. Their son Vincent is all the time ready to assist with electronic connections. Their nurse daughter Eliza is charming with hot smile. Mr Paul is a friendly father who make sure the guest get all deliverables especially when Eva is out. The bicycle was available for daily ride. I recommend Eva’s B&B for others planning to visit Leiden

  11. I spent five days in Eva’s B&B, which is actually more than a B&B. Eva and every single member of her family was more than kind and helpful with everything. I not only had the top quality services, such as a very clean and modern room with all the required equipment inside but also all the relevant information and care that I needed while house-hunting. Eva made sure that she contacted the people she knows who may be interested in renting their apartments, and when I found a permanent place to live she kindly offered to give me a ride. Having moved to my new apartment, I can really say that I badly miss the care I had in her place, not to mention her rich breakfasts 🙂

The B&B is quite close to Leiden, just one station away from the Leiden Centraal which takes only 4 minutes. From the station De Vink it takes three minutes to arrive at the B&B. There are also good bus connections to the main streets in the city centre of Leiden. They also give you a bike and if you want you can drive to Leiden.

If you want to pay for a room that is worth the quality and service you get, and actually to pay this to somebody who deserves it, I strongly recommend this place.

  12. I spend 5 nights at Eva’s B&B when I conducted research at the main library of Leiden University and I can recommend it without hesitation. The room is clean and furnished with everything you need and even more. The comprehensive breakfast is a welcome start into the day and you’ll get any information you need.

  13. Everything below is true. To add: Your room will be in the second floor (meaning two flights of stairs have to be climbed) and you’re staying actually in their own home. There will be a dog present, which is a very friendly animal, though it tends to stand in your way.

I had a pleasant stay and will try to rent a room again when back in Leiden.

  14. I had a really good experience in the two nights I spent in Eva’s last year. The house is clean, quite, breakfast is great and Eva and her family are really nice. I also forgot my hat there and Eva kindly post it for me in the UK.
I strongly recommend Eva’s Bed and Breakfast.

  15. I really enjoyed staying at Eva’s house. Paul and Eva are very kind to me, they helped a lot. Eva cooked very delicious egg every morning for me, and the breakfast also very rich so everyday I took bread for lunch. I stayed there for 3 weeks and it was lovely because from it I learned so many things, particularly the Netherlands culture. The room was wide and comfortable with the fridge and television and also radio. I went to office by bike almost everyday because Eva provide bike for me to go everywhere. I also love to see Eva’s Spanish dog, Onda. She was very friendly and made me feels like home anyway (because I also have a dog at home). Overall, i give 5 stars for Eva’s Bed and Breakfast, and I really recommend you to stay at Eva’s. Good luck! 🙂

  16. I stayed at the Eva?s bed and breakfast for 5 days. The house is quite close from de Vink station, 10 minute walking. I can use a bike to travel to the city center and Leiden University. The breakfast was nice and I had good conversation with Eva about families. I recommend the house for a short stay in Leiden.

  17. I stayed at Eva’s B&B for 4 nights. I am really moved by their hospitality during my stay there. Both Eva and her husband Paul were friendly and would engage in conversations about how my day went. They were very accommodative to suggest leaving my two heavy bags in their living room during those 4 days, instead of carrying them up by two floors. The breakfast is amazing and the best part is Eva even provides enough to take for lunch. Overall, no complaints. I was even considering if I could be a permanent guest there 😀 (just kidding :-))

  18. Thank you for the lovely 6 days at your beautiful home! Being in the quiet residential area, it was a precious “live-as-Leideners” experience. Gorgeous table-covering breakfast, convenient access to the city centre, and the peaceful view from my room… I am already looking forward to going back to “my home” in Leiden.

  19. Last week I was in Leiden for two days for a conference and stayed at Eva’s B&B. The BB is very easy to reach from Vink trainstation (less than a 10 min walk) and by train one is in Leiden Centre within 3 minutes. I slept very well and the breakfast was superb! I can recommend this B&B to everyone looking for a hospitable place to stay. I will certainly come again. Thank you Eva (and husband) for the warm welcome!

  21. Hoi Eva,

    Bedankt voor alles!

Mochten we in de toekomst weer een B&B nodig hebben dan weet ik je sowieso te vinden!

    Het was top!

  22. Thank you Eva for such a nice long-term stay in your house. The room was super comfortable and the breakfast was always well served. I would certainly recommend this to anyone for a short or long stay in Leiden.

  23. I was 6 days at Eva’s B&B and for sure I strongly recommend it to anyone! A lovely quiet room in a nice residential area of Leiden, easy connections by public transport or by bicycle (that Eva is so kind to give you available); a fantastic breakfast (that also becomes your lunch!)… these are all ingredients of a really nice stay in Eva’s and her husband Paul’s home… But above all a friendly and warm atmosphere!
Thank you Eva for your hospitality, I really felt at home during my stay in Leiden!

  24. It is always a pleasure to stay at Eva’s guesthouse. The rooms are very comfortable, with good wifi access, and the breakfasts are excellent! With a warm welcome and a convenient location – I recommend highly.

  25. I had a lovely three night stay in Eva’s Guesthouse. Eva made me feel very welcome. The room had everything you could need for a comfy stay and the breakfast was great. Thank you very much Eva for a very good stay.
